Designated organizations are business entities that are approved to invest in or lend support to those applying for the Start-up Visa Program. Each organization has its own processes for selecting and reviewing business enterprises. The organization that chooses to review your business proposal and plan will assess whether it will be profitable or successful. A list of approved and designated venture capital funds, angel investor groups and business incubators is provided below.
To be approved, the commitment needs to satisfy one of the criteria below:
An elected angel investor group needs to confirm a minimum investment of $75,000 into the applicant’s business; or several elected groups must make commitments that total $75,000.
An elected venture capital fund needs to confirm a minimum investment of $200,000 into the applicant’s business; or several elected funds must make commitments that total $200,000.
An elected business incubator needs to confirm their business incubator program is accepting the applicant.
